10 Easy to Follow Tips for Healthy Eating

Let’s talk about some simple tips on healthy eating.

 

We are living in the time of information overload and diet, what to eat, what not eat are constant topics in the news.

Although there is no 'one size fits all' approach to nutrition, the recommendations below are for you to have as a reference - work around it depending on your preferences and health condition, taking into consideration what suits your body.

 

  1. Drink 2L of good quality water per day

 

  1. Base your diet around vegetables (50-70% of your daily calorie intake

 

  1. Eat at least 1g of protein per kg of body weight

 

  1. Eat 2 portions of fruit per day

 

  1. Eat whole grains and complex carbohydrates like brown rice, quinoa, buckwheat, sweet potato

 

  1. Eat oily fishes like salmon, mackerel, sardines or plant-based alternative like flax, hemp and chia seeds

 

  1. Eat legumes regularly, especially if vegan

 

  1. Eat nuts and seeds daily

 

  1. Cook with butter, coconut oil, olive oil or ghee

 

  1. Drink herbal teas daily (an easy way get extra polyphenols into your diet)

 

Although nutrition has gotten more complicated over the last decade, it really doesn’t have to be overcomplicated. Simple and sustainable ways of healthy eating have been here way before our times. No need to complicate things!
